Difference Between Stainless Steel and Galvanized Steel 

Steel, in general, is a combination of iron alloys that are melted together and re-formed in order to form a stronger and more reliable metal. Galvanized steel is coated in zinc by one of several methods in order to prevent rust and corrosion. Stainless steel and stainless steel tubing, on the other hand, are created by adding a mixture of 10.5 percent chromium to the molten iron alloy before cooling and forming the steel. Once formed and cooled, stainless steel undergoes a few more processes to smooth the finish and provide additional resistance from the elements. To form stainless steel tubing, thin sheets of the steel are rolled and welded until a strong, unbreakable bond is formed.

Although it is used for transporting potable water in some instances, copper or PVC piping has gained popularity since it does conduct heat as easily and does not get as warm or cool to the touch.
